The build quality We use high-purity quartz glass because it can handle the shock of rapid heating and cooling without cracking. Inside, we use a halogen gas fill to stop the filament from evaporating too quickly. Basically, it means the lamp lasts longer before it finally gives up. We also obsess over the connectors—usually R7s or Sk15. We keep the tolerances tight so the lamp snaps firmly into the socket. If the fit is loose, you get arcing.
